The nye 5 course menu was delicious and the service was top notch here! They let us choose our appetizer, main and dessert course but the others were already set. It was all a lovely balance of light and rich savory flavors. The highlight of the meal was the beef Wellington. Very good! Matcha cake dessert was interesting but the chocolate cake was better. They had dim lighting in the restaurant and the service was flawless. Thankful for a wonderful filling beautiful dinner for nye.

Cozy ambiance, decorated for the Christmas holidays--perfect for my birthday dinner! Great, attentive service. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious! They were also very knowledgeable and accommodating for gluten free options. This is the first French restaurant with many GF items. Thank you, Et Voila!! The drinks: pinot and a blackberry smash mocktail. The eats (all GF): salade du jardin au bleu, fromage/cheese (MANCHEGO & Brillat-Savarin), mussels (MOULES MARINIÈRE), scallops (COQUILLES ST-JACQUES, BEURRE AUX HERBES), lamb shank that fell off the bone (JARRET D'AGNEAU AUSTRALIEN, SAUCE AU CUMIN), French onion soup For my birthday dessert: chocolate pot de crème

My husband made reservations at Et Voila for us to celebrate our anniversary. We are so glad he came across this restaurant when searching San Diego's best restaurants online. The restaurant has a quaint, friendly ambiance that makes it easy to converse. The servers are professional, friendly and attentive. The food was decadent and had a unique flavor profile. I'm attaching the foods we enjoyed. We can't wait to be in the San Diego area again to come enjoy some delicious food.

This place is such a cute little find! It's got that cozy, tucked-away feel with tables pretty close together, but honestly, it just adds to the charm. We started with the escargot and duck confit -- both were SO good. The flavors were spot on. We were too excited to dig in and totally forgot to snap pictures (rookie move, I know). For entrées, we had the herb-crusted New Zealand venison and the pan-roasted guinea hen breast. Both were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly.

This is a wonderful French restaurant located in University Heights. Reservations are a must here. We were greeted warmly when we entered and seated immediately. The restaurant was at capacity at 6:30 pm but despite the volume of people, we could still converse comfortably with our group. The interior has a warm welcoming feel and was recently decorated for Christmas. I enjoyed looking at the lights, wreathes, and Christmas tree throughout my meal. The steak frites are a must have! The steak was so juicy and flavorful and the texture was melt in your mouth. My steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare as ordered. There was a delicious peppercorn sauce on the side. The frites were nicely double fried - crispy on the outside still soft on the inside with just the right amount of salt. My wife ordered the mushroom linguini which was solid. The mushrooms were rich umami in flavor and cooked perfectly. The bread and butter is a must have as well! It comes with two small loaves which are piping hot. They recommend tearing them not cutting them. The French know how to make delicious bread. The bread is so soft and buttery and just the right amount of crispy on the outside. This paired beautifully with the creamy butter balls. We ended with a delicious soufflé. They have a flavor of the day so it keeps you on your toes. Service was wonderful. Our water jugs stayed filled and the servers came by frequently to check on us if we needed anything. Highly recommend when you are craving quality French food.

My husband and I went to Et Voilà to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We were beyond impressed by the food & impeccable service. First we had cheese. The brillat savarin cheese was to die for. With honey comb. Swoon. Next we had the croustillons chaud de reblochon. Amazing. For entrées I had the moules marinière and my husband had steak frites. Both absolutely delicious! Mussels were the hugest mussels I'd ever seen and they tasted so fresh & amazing. For drinks.. I had a cucumber gimlet (wow) and a glass of Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc! The baguette at the table was authentic and fresh. Perfection. For dessert we shared the chocolate souflée and wow it was next level Ambiance was chic and very French- not pretentious or overly trendy or loud. The service was amazing. We were treated so kindly even when we requested to move to the bar to take advantage of happy hour prices for 30 min before starting our dinner. I was very impressed and can't wait to return! C'était magnifique!!!

Went to Et Voilà for the first time to celebrate an anniversary dinner for a party for four. It was done very much done on a lark; we knew no one who had actually eaten here. In general, this was the sort of place that can be wonderful or terrible. Nevertheless, given the reviews and the past menus, we decided to give it a go. And overall, we were extremely pleased with everything. The venue itself is dimly lit and exudes warmth and intimate dining. The menu and the wine list screamed French bistro. In addition to its standard offerings, there were also a number of specials. All four of us ordered different dishes to get as wide a range of tastes as possible. We did also order ahead of time their soufflé for dessert, as it takes somewhat of a longer time to prepare. And as a whole, everything ordered was beautifully prepared, plated and served. While there were some dishes that outshone others--e.g., the Magret de canard à la myrtille (roasted duck breast with a tangy huckleberry sauce)--everything was eminently tasty. I ordered the rabbit, served boneless and in roulettes, a style I had not had before. I enjoyed a glass of the Dom. Girault sauvignon blanc with my appetizer and their pinot noir with my main course. In general, it was a pleasant and successful meal. There were desiderata. The service, while pleasant, was inconsistent. Our waitress disappeared with just a bit too much frequency. We also let her choose our three cheeses for our cheeseboard (with included bread and garnitures) that, while good, did not make for the best combination. But that said, our party spent a very enjoyable evening celebrating our anniversary. As a post-scriptum: we have since learned that the other couple who dined with us--my son and his girlfriend--have returned because they enjoyed their meals so much. Getting a text the night of their first return, my son simply wrote "We've stolen your date spot!" C'est ça, precisement, mon fils. Well worth the go.
